Now back to the regular schedule program.....

Well today marked day 3.....We have completed the tear down of walls and old insulation. Now for the re build of said walls with new insulation, drywall and paint. By this point I think I am more excited than the daughter. But that is normal. The general idea was to give the daughter a 'pocket' door for the closet but that's not going to happen now because we're pretty sure the main support for the roof runs on the left side of the opening so we can't cut through that unless we want to fix the main support..I can answer this one easily Not a chance in Hell!! As you can see we have decided not to pull down the ceiling....it was a very trying job when we pulled the kitchen one down and we always said that if we had to to it over again we wouldn't
So we didn't!!!

We interupt this bedroom reno for .......

The Kitchen reveal!! Finally I am finding the time to upload these pictures.....
You'll have to go back and take a look at the before pictures to know how far we have come. All I
can say is I love my new kitchen and I hardly remember what the old one looked like.

Step 4.....

Came back from camping and the husband decided it was now or never so he started the demo of the walls in the daughters bedroom...wholly dust!!! But the walls are down and he's going to finish up tomorrow.....
He was breaking down the walls and shoveling it up and throwing it out the window to his pickup that was backed up to the house! So much easier then carting the garbage cans up and down the stairs.

Camping intertuption....

Step 4 was interrupted by a camping trip....

Had fun, weather was nice not hot but nice!! It didn't rain, went for a hike and slept in. My kind of mini vacation!

Starting a new room..Daughter's Bedroom

So the story goes as follows...
Daughter goes away and we re do her room (almost every year)
This year we have made the decision to take out the carpet, re paint the walls, do a built in bookshelf and a pocket door for her closet.
Below are some of the during photos because I forgot to take the before photos.....
Step one: was emptying the room, fun times (this is always the time that I use to go through her clothes, toys and papers throwing out or donating what she doesn't use or has out grown)
Step two: (below) took all the posters and pictures off walls, took down shelves

Step three: (below) remove carpet, carpet strips, under padding and staples

Step four : The husband gets this job....remove walls if you re call the walls are all plaster so this will be a dusty messy job that hopefully will only take two days.
Step five: insulation and new drywall / build book shelf beside window (right side)
Step six : mud, sand and paint
Step seven: carpet and trim work
Step eight : move everything back in!!!
And Done!! Now we have to do the work....nothing will go they way I want it to (I am prepared for that) Expected time frame....3 weeks!! The daughter is back so it HAS to be done.
